CARPET TYPE AND STYLE
Certain carpets clean better than others. Some are made to only last 5 years and don't respond well to cleaning at all. The newer polyester (PET) and triextia (PTT), that sells by many names do not hold up as well as carpet made years ago. The newer style withstands staining better; however, it gives up some fiber retention that leads to "tip bloom" and can appear dull or grayish in the traffic paths. Nylon carpet will clean up better and quicker than olefin and polyester. some carpets will need to be pre/scrubbed and pretreated twice. Carpet cleaning does not return aged carpet to new condition.
AGE AND QUALITY OF CARPET
Age and quality of carpet needs to be considered to determine to cleaning results. If the carpet been cleaned yearly, it will clean better and quicker than a carpet that has not been maintained yearly. A carpet with a 15 year warranty will look better at 8 years than a carpet with a 10 year warranty at 8 years. The newer carpets with a 5 year warranty may not clean well at 3 years.
